Garratt no. 138 "Millennium" brings the early morning freight up
to Waunfawr on 14th September 2003
As "Millennium" passes under the road bridge into Waunfawr station
the driver opens up
the regulator for the climb ahead.
Further on the train is about to pass under the A4085 berfore it
reaches Snowdon Ranger Halt
Early morning sunshine and Snowdon in the background as the freight
heads on to Rhyd Ddu.
The freight enters Rhyd Ddu station.This is the newly opened terminus
of the WHR.
The engine has now run round its train at Rhyd Ddu.
The two photographers coaches can now be seen next to the locomotive.
The train is now seen on the sharp curves just outside Rhyd Ddu,
lit by the early morning sunshine.
Another shot of steam super power in Snowdonia, as the freight continues
to Waunfawr, bound for Dinas.
A final shot at Betws Garmon as I head back to my Waunfawr holiday
base for breakfast!
