The Railway Touring Company 10th March 2012

47580 "County of Essex" brings the ECS into Cleethorpes station...

...at 0617 for a 0647 departure to Newcastle and Morpeth.

70013 "Oliver Cromwell" was on the rear of train as it arrived from overnight stabling at Barnetby.

The journey begins as 70013 is pictured approaching Suggitts Lane, soon after leaving Cleethorpes station
with a superb early morning sunrise as backdrop.

Now under way and, according to Peter, sounding healthier than the previous Saturday when it failed at Cleethorpes.

The train has now picked up at Grimsby Town and is again seen in glorious early morning lighting at Great Coates station.

Approaching Brocklesby Junction and doing over 60mph...

...70013 is really getting into her stride now.

Not far down the line the train begins to slow sightly...

..as it passes the old white wooden "Whistle" sign before New Barnetby level crossing.

A signal check just before Scunthorope station gives me a chance to drink my coffee without
spilling - and get a quick shot out the window!

After picking up passengers at Scunthorpe the train is now seen approaching Crowle station.

The train is now seen restating from Crowle station which was its last pickup point.

Having taken the freight line at Stainforth we had a signal check before joining the ECML for a fast run to York.
