Snowdon Mountain Railway

27th June 2016

We finally managed to ascend Snowdon on a reasonable day - the only fine day of our weeks holiday! Here we are about to pass a
downhill steam hauled train at Hebron station. My only complaint about the railway is their insistance that 10 passengers occupy
each compartment, which leads to an uncomfortable squeeze (like a tin of sardines?) with "normal-sized" people

A view from the train of the Llanberis Pass.

The summit of Snowdon, complete with mist, but it was possible to see the coastline.

Looking down on Summit station, showng the steps down.

A train begins its misty descent of the mountain, with the path down to Llanberis visible on the right.

Our train awaits at Summit station. Hunslet built diesel loco no.10.

Another view of the Llanberis Pass as we descend slowly.

Arrival platform at Llanberis station.

The empty train was then propelled out of the arrival platform and then brought into the departure side of the station.
