"Rails to the Sands"
An exhibition of seaside miniature railways

"Rails to the Sands" was the first major exhibition of the Miniature Railway Museum Trust, which is working to develop
a permanent museum of miniature railways, in Cleethorpes. It ran from July 2010 to its closure in December 2011.


"Blacolvesley" a 15 inch gauge 4-4-4T petrol loco built in 1909 stands next to 10.25 inch "Edmund Hannay of 1972.


7.25 inch gauge "Lorna Doone" which worked on the Mablethorpe miniature railway in late 1920`s.

A 10.25 inch Tri-ang Minic electric loco aimed at the garden railway market in early 1960`s.


Cromar White loco based on the German Jung locos - 7.25 inch gauge.


A cab view of "Edmund Hannay", which worked on the Wells Harbour railway for many years.


A lovely 09 scale model, by Colin Peake, named "Shifting Sands" and based on Cleethorpes and Fairbourne railways.


In addition to locos and rolling stock this exhibition has a large number of posters, leaflets, timetables, guide books etc from
the world of the seaside miniature railway.
