North Ings Farm Museum Narrow Gauge Railway
3rd August 2008

The museum is situated at Dorrington on the edge of the Lincolnshire Fens and has a collection of tractors,
agricultural machinery, commercial vehicles and a narrow gauge railway.

"Swift" the steam tram engine is seen here in steam on 3rd August 2008.

Power is provided by a Merryweather vertical boiler.

The tram engine has just departed from the station area and heads down a 1 in 30 gradient.

Short wheelbase loco and stock make easy work of the very tight corners...

...as the train weaves around the site on a third of a mile of 2 foot gauge track.

Seen returning to the station, the loco has had to work hard up the grade from the fishing lake.

The museum has an extensive collection of narrow gauge locos and rolling stock..

..including several Ruston locomotives.

A NIFNGR wagon, a rather unique Lister, tank wagon, Motor Rail and "Indian Runner" a Ruston 33/40HP.

"Penelope", an ex-army Motor Rail, on loan from the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum Trust,
as is "Indian Runner".

One of the other exhibits in the museum is this majestic looking steam roller.

The museum is normally open on the first Sunday of the month from April to October between 10am and 5pm.

Please check opening times on the museums own website  www.northingsfarmmuseum.co.uk/index.htm
