New Northern Terminus for LWR - 13th September 2009

The stationmaster arrives for work at North Thoresby station before the first train of the day on Sept 13th.

The station is the new northern terminus of the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway, opened to the public on 26th August 2009.

"Millom", on loan from the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, brings the train into North Thoresby station.

The train stops and passengers stretch their legs on the new platform surface.

The driver takes the oportunity to check round the loco.

This particular train was "top & tailed" and "Moorbarrow" was on the Ludborough end of the train.

"Moorbarrow" departs, in a cloud of steam, towards Ludborough.

Once clear of the siding point "Moorbarrow" opens up in fine style, whilst "Millom" quietly simmers at the rear.
