The Wrawby Junction to Retford line saw regular freight services
for a couple of weeks in late January/early February following a derailment
on
the Wrawby Jcn to Scunthorpe line which caused large scale track
damage, leading to passengers being bussed from Cleethorpes to Scunthorpe.
Here 66182 on an EWS coal train comes off the double track and enters
the single line section towards Kirton Lindsey.
Twin car dmu no. 144007 comes off double track from Wrawby
Jcn with a Saturdays only Cleethorpes to Sheffield service.
Freight train approaching Kirton tunnel from the west...
..turns out to be 66562 on coal empties for Immingham...
...seen passing site of long disused Kirton Lime Sidings.
This is shortly followed by 66093 also with coal empties for Immingham.
Further west is Northorpe where 66592 holds up the traffic as it
heads towards Immingham.
Carr Lane bridge just outside Gainsborough sees 66041 making its
way eastwards.

sees a Saturday service of local passenger trains.

where it waits for several minutes..
...before the conductor carefully scans the horizon for intending
passengers and the train departs into the setting sun.
