The railway hosts an annual Hop Pickers event at Bodiam, which had been in the centre of hop growing.
This is a recreation of a hop garden with hoppers huts behind the camera.


1919 Ashford Works built SR prototype mail and luggage van at Bodiam. Also known as a "Cavell Van" following the
use of this particular van to convey the body of Nurse Edith Cavell in May 1919.


This van was also used to convey the bodies of Captain Fryatt in 1919 and the Unknown Warrior in 1920.
With the recreated interior including coffin and detailed information boards it is a very moving exhibit.


The DMU stands at Bodiam station whilst the crew cool off in the shade of the platform canopy.


Almost time to depart...


...and with a cheery wave from the guard the train returns to Tenterden.
