"The Great Central" - 3rd March 2007
Kings Cross, Newark, Lincoln, Immingham Loop, Brigg, Deepcar & return (steam P`boro` to Deepcar).


V2 4771 "Green Arrow" negotiates West Holmes Junction on outskirts of Lincoln with "the Great Central".


The train was booked to take water at Lincoln and is seen here running on the goods loop towards Lincoln station.


Arrival time at Lincoln was about 45 mins late - further delays were to unfold.


After watering the train is seen crossing the River Witham on on the outskirts of Lincoln.


After a cut down station stop "Green Arrow" is seen leaving Market Rasen.


The train passes Stallingborough station at speed......

Seen after leaving West Marsh sidings on very sharp curve alongside Moody Lane, Pyewipe.


Slightly further down the Immingham loop line (from Marsh Junction Grimsby to Immingham East) at Woad Lane, Great Coates.


The train heads towards Immingham, Killingholme and Ulceby and will rejoin the mainline at Brocklesby Junction.


Now running in excess of 3 hours late the train is seen here at Brigg on the Wrawby Jcn to Retford line.


Despite its late running there were many onlookers at Brigg waiting for a glimpse of the train.

 BACK
