Ffestiniog Railway - Gwynedd North Wales
September 2011

"Merddin Emrys" brings the 1510 departure from Blaenau Ffestiniog over a rainswept Cob and
into Porthmadog on Sunday 24th September 2011

The locomotive runs around its train in Porthmadog station in order to shunt the stock into the carriage sidings.

The damp atmosphere accentuates the steam from the engine.

Now coupled onto its train "Merddin Emrys" pulls a portion of the stock out of the platform...

...and back out onto the Cob in order to access the carriage sidings.

Stock being reversed off the Cob to the sidings.

Again lots of steam from the double ended Fairlie locomotive.

End of the shunt and time to give the locomotive motion a quick clean!

"Merddin Emrys" dashes under a footbridge near Tanygrisiau...

... with the 13.35 Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestinog on 28th Sept 2011.

The 1510 from Blaenau Ffestiniog captured from the same Tanygrisiau footbridge
in sweltering September temperatures (25 degrees!) - 28th Sept 2011.

The 11.50 train from Blaenau Ffestiniog enters Minffordd station on a very sunny Friday 30th September 2011.

The train waits in the station whilst the fireman exchanges the token in the station building.

With the fireman back on board "Merddin Emrys" departs Minffordd for Porthmadog.
