The Fairbourne Railway

0-4-0 "Sherpa", modelled on Darjeeling
& Himalayan locos, has just brought the train into Porth Penrhyn
from Fairbourne.
Looking across the estuary towards
Barmouth. The Ferry has just arrived and passengers are now joining the
train.

The loco is uncoupled and runs around its train. Barmouth Bridge
spanning the Mawddach Estuary is in the background.

Having taken coal the loco has now rejoined its train for the return
trip to Fairbourne.

Having uncoupled at Fairbourne the loco runs onto depot for ashpan
cleaning prior to running the final trip of the day.
"Yeo" stands inside the loco shed.
"Russell" stands over the pit, currently
under restoration.
A new aquisition seen on temporary
bogies is a Simplex diesel which is to be regauged to 15 inch for use on
works trains.
