Just after Grimsby Docks station 70013 negotiates the tight curves and crosses Fish Dock Road..

A little further along the line 70013 passes under Humber Street bridge..

..to pass through New Clee station, the final station before Cleethorpes.


Journeys end at Cleethorpes. Passengers were able to enjoy warm sunshine as they disembarked at the seaside.


As usual the sight of a "steamer" brought out the crowds...


...but on the trackside engineers from the 5305 locomotive association,
the custodians of 70013, were examining the locomotives motion.


Unfortunately 70013 had suffered broken piston rings on the left hand side, which meant that the return to Kings Cross
was diesel hauled by 47760 all the way from Cleethorpes. Seen here soon after leaving Wrawby Junction on Lincoln line.

After the train had left for Kings Cross behind the class 47 diesel "Cromwell" gently reverses its support
coach over the pointwork from platform 3 to enable it to be stabled in platform 1 for repair.


A quick dash back to Cleethorpes found the sorry sight of "Cromwell" with support coach now in platform 1
with a "Not to be Moved" sign on...


...and the support crew already working at lineside...


...removing the left hand cylinder cover due to inspect the piston and its rings.


As darkness falls over 70013 in Cleethorpes station chief engineer Tom Tighe can be seen on the platform
- probably phoning out for a pizza?

The repair was completed on the Sunday and the loco remained at
Cleethorpes until the following Friday.
