Chasing
class 37`s in North Lincolnshire
6th
July 2015
Class 37 No. 37175 leads a "top &
tailed" 4 coach NR test train round West Marsh Junction in Grimsby
heading towards
Immingham via the Grimsby & District Light Railway.
The sidings on the right are now
gradually returning to nature!
The train passes under my viewpoint on
Cleveland Bridge and passes under the A180 trunk road.
Having negotiated the very tight curves
from Great Coates No1 signalbox to Pyewipe Road signalbox the lead
engine
now crosses Pyewipe Road and heads towards Immingham East on the Light
Railway.
The train ran into Immingham Docks on the
LH curve, which I missed by minutes, and is seen returning towards
Grimsbys
Pyewipe Road with the backdrop of dock cranes.
A stop at Immingham East to pick up the
single line token and the train heads towards Grimsby again.
A view of the train passing Goxhill
station, which still retains its wheel operated crossing gates and
semaphores,
on the Barton on Humber branch.
It passed underneath the overbridge and
headed towards Oxmarsh Junction New Holland where it would collect
the single line token for the New Holland to Barton on Humber branch.
Barton on Humber Interchange, with bus
connections to Hull or Scunthorpe....
....which
normally only sees a single car 153 Northern Rail unit.
A brief stop here and it`s back to
Grimsby and Cleethorpes via Habrough.
