January 1978
During the night of 11th January 1978 an
exceptionally
high tide, coupled with strong winds, caused
serious flooding and damage to the line between
Suggitts
Lane, near Cleethorpes station, and the
football ground at Blundell Park.

Several trains were marooned in Cleethorpes station and all services
were terminating at Grimsby Town station.
