Signs proclaim the start of the new southern extension for the CCLR
Work in progress in February 2006 on the diamond crossover which
will give access to a through platform
(platform 3) and the new extension which will run towards Buck Beck
and a new southern terminus.
"Sutton Belle" stands in platform 1 with a train for Kingsway.

Earthworks for the southern extension began in mid October 2006.
The new railway turns seawards from the old formation to the long
disused 1990`s Witts End terminus.

Some tree felling was necessary to reach the chalet lined sea
defences.
