Mid Suffolk Light Railway

The Mid Suffolk Light Railway was only about 4 miles from where we were
staying on holiday -
so it would have been rude not to pay them a visit!
A Waggon & Maschinenbau diesel railbus was on loan from the East
Anglian Railway Museum during June and is seen
entering Brockford Station on a training run before public trains began
for the day.
Awaiting passengers for the first
advertised train at 11.00am.
Brockford station site has several
original buildings from the MSLR which have been brought to the site to
recreate a real light railway feel.
The main station building was originally
at Mendlesham not far away from Brockford.

A footpath crossing, where the train
comes to a stop before proceeding.
Aspall Halt is the far end of the line,
where the railbus waits for several minutes.
Now on the return trip with driver
approaching the footpath crossing.
Back at a very busy Brockford. We had a
very nice pannini and a coffee at the railways cafe.
Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0 saddle tank

Peckett 0-4-0ST no 1370 is the guest
steam loco for this summer.
LNER Y7 no 985 undergoing major work in
the restoration shed.
