The level crossing gates at Bronwydd Arms
station are opened for a steam service to Abergwili Junction.
The train is hauled by RSH 7170 "Welsh
Guardsman" of 1944.
Arrival at Abergwili Junction station
where the loco runs around its train.

"Welsh Guardsman" runs up to the headshunt..
...and then runs around its coaches. A
noticeable gradient here.
Awaiting departure from Abergwili
Junction back to Bronwydd Arms.
A view from the signalbox, with
signalmans permission, as the train arrives back at Bronwydd Arms.
Due to a high risk of lineside fires on
the day we visited steam trains were only running on the southern part
of the line.
The ECS train is seen here pulling forward to enable a run round in the
station loop.
A view of the engine shed as the steam
loco is about to be uncoupled for run round.
"Welsh Guardsman" runs round in the loop.
The train is brought back in to the
station to return to Abergwili Junction as passengers await a dmu
service northwards.
