Late afternoon and the Mallet locomotive is seen across the fields
after passing Pendé heading towards St. Valery.
In late afternoon Bebért propelled the K&ESR coach towards
St. Valery for the last time in the fête.
I was fortunate to meet a fellow K&WVR member, who had a French
railway enthusiast with him, and was invited to join
them at a rather good viewpoint. No 1 "Aisne" seen from the marshes
at 17.10 with a St. Valery train.
No 15 heads in the opposite direction, at 17.35, past a group of
photographers at another popular viewpoint.
It was now 17.56 and the Parisien métro train made a splendid
sight as it headed along the embankment to St.Valery.
At 18.11 the Mallet came into view and stopped in the middle of
nowhere. The loco crew all got out and photographs were
taken by members of the train crew!
Photos taken it restarted its train and continued its journey...
... being bathed in the superb golden late evening sunshine.
X-212 followed shortly afterwards being reflected in the pools of
the marsh area.
Final light engine movement of the day over the embankment was

A quick look in at St. Valey Canal depot on a dull Monday morning
29th April found the Parisien métro units on three lorries
about to leave for their Versailles depot.
The rail ramps being loaded onto one of the lorries - third lorry
was in road outside depot.
The Mallet was having its smokebox cleaned out whilst it was drained
of water.
The following day found another lorry - this time with the 0-4-0
Corpet Louvet ready to go home.
